Your data, plainly.
Last updated 16 October 2026. Monty is made by Nuova (“we”). Questions: hello@heymonty.si.
What Monty reads
When you sign in with X, you allow Monty to read your public profile, your followers, posts (yours and public ones) and, only if you turn it on, your direct messages. Monty asks X for read access only. It cannot post, like, follow or send messages, and it never does.
Where your data lives
- On your Mac (Mac app): your leads, scores, drafted messages, notes and settings are stored on your Mac.
- On our servers (web app): the same things, so Monty works in any browser and can do your morning read while the tab is closed.
- On our servers: your X account id, handle, name and photo; your plan, credits and their history; how much of the X and AI services you used this month; and your X sign-in, encrypted. We keep these to run your account and billing.
- Passing through: when Monty reads from X or asks the AI to score someone or write a message, the request goes through our server to X or to Anthropic (the AI provider) and the answer comes back to you. We don't keep the content of those requests.
Who else is involved
- X, to read the data you allowed.
- Anthropic, which runs the AI that scores people and writes drafts. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Stripe (with Link as the seller of record), which handles payments, tax and receipts. We never see your full card number.
- Google Analytics, only as described below.
- Your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) delivers notifications, if you turn them on. It sees an encrypted message it can't read.
- Cloudflare, which hosts our website and servers.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to learn which pages and features help people: page views, which buttons are used, and steps like starting a trial or sending a first message. We never send your name, handle, email or anyone's messages.
Until you choose Allow, nothing is stored on your device: Google only receives anonymous, cookieless signals. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets its cookies to count visits over time. Ads are always off. You can change your choice any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Your choices
- Sign out any time from the account menu. You can also remove Monty's access in X under Settings › Security › Connected apps.
- Ask us to export or delete your account by writing to hello@heymonty.si. We delete it within 30 days, except for records we must keep for tax.
- Data on your Mac is removed when you delete the app and its data.
People you see in Monty
Monty shows public information about people who follow you or post publicly, so you can decide whether to start a conversation. It's only shown to you. If you appear in someone's Monty and want that to stop, write to us and we'll help.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
